Bento announces Korea Republic squad for final qualifiers in March

The 25-man squad has been announced ahead of the ninth and tenth matches in the final round of the Asian Qualifiers for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
Paolo Bento’s charges will welcome Iran to Seoul World Cup Stadium on 24 March, before taking on the United Arab Emirates in Dubai five days later.
Having already qualified for the world finals, the Taegeuk Warriors are focused on winning the group in order to have advantage in the group stage draw for the finals. Korea Republic are currently in second place with six wins and two draws from eight matches, two points adrift of Group A leaders Iran on 22 points with seven wins and a draw.
Bento has called up a contingent of European-based players at his disposal, including Son Heungmin (Tottenham Hotspur), Hwang Uijo (Girondins de Bordeaux), Kim Minjae (Fenerbahce SK), Hwang Heechan (Wolverhampton Wanderers) and Lee Jaesung (Mainz 05). Meanwhile, Suwon FC defender Park Mingyu got his first senior call up.
