The Daum Challengers League is entering its seventh season since its launch in 2007, aiming to become a festival of football together with local fans. This season sees 18 teams participating in the competition following the establishment of Gimpo Citizen FC and Hwaseong FC. Two groups of nine clubs will play 27 rounds, with top six teams reaching the play-offs at the end of the season.

Group A features defending champions Pocheon Citizen FC and their crosstown rivals Icheon Citizen FC. Cheongju Jikji FC, Jeonnam Yeonggwang FC, Jeonbuk Maeil FC (former Jeonju EM), Cheonan FC, Goyang Citizen FC, Gwangju Gwangsan FC and Gimpo Citizen FC are in the same group.

In Group B, there are last year¡¯s runners-up Chuncheon Citizen FC and third-placed Paju Citizen FC, former champions Yangju Citizen FC, Gyeongju Citizen FC, Seoul United, Jungrang Chorus Mustang, Asan United, Seoul FC Martyrs, and Hwaseong FC.

This season kicks off on 2 March and after 27 rounds of home-and-away and inter-league football, top three teams from each group advance to the six-team play-offs with the team with the best result reaching the championship final. After the ties between third-placed team and sixth-placed team / fourth-placed team and fifth-placed team, the winners play each other to reach the semi-final against the runners-up. Last six play-off is to be played on 5 October, last four on 26 October, semi-final on 2 November, with the championship final scheduled on 9 November.
